lil' miss independent

our little miss independent just loved her first fourth.

actually, she slept through every firework show we drove by on i-71 on our way home from a wedding. but next year hopefully she will be into all the pretty colors in the sky. i always loved fireworks and spent some quality time as an young pyro - and soon grew out of it.

our fourth was really celebrated on the fifth at my mom's pool complete with raft races for the boys and burgers with actual bacon cooked inside! you know, we try to keep it as close to the historical celebration as possible.
enjoy it now kid, cause i can just hear myself in the future, annoyingly repeating the story of the revolutionary day when (most of) our forefathers told off a bully and got a country out of it. if that's not a lesson in standing up for yourself, what is?

thanks for the country. and for the one day where wearing the flag as a tank top isn't tacky..just plain old cute.
